Two local consulting structural engineering firms would like to announce their merger, Mesen Associates, PC of Springfield, VA and Structura, Inc., of North Bethesda, MD. Structura will maintain the current office location in Springfield along with Mesen’s staff and will maintain the same relationships, quality of work, and level of service that both of their clients have experienced for decades.

Mesen Associates, PC, led by principal and founder of the firm, Urhan Mesen, PE, and headquartered in Springfield, VA, brings 38 years of experience in structural design and consulting to the partnership. During these years Mesen Associates planned, designed, and actively participated in the construction administration of both new and major renovation projects including shopping centers, residential and mixed-use buildings, religious buildings, educational facilities, commercial offices, parking garages, and senior living structures throughout the region.

Established in 1988, Structura Inc. is a consulting structural engineering firm based in North Bethesda, MD with offices in Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA. With affinity to Mesen, Structura’s services cover a similar range of building types and markets including mixed-use multifamily residential, commercial office, adaptive reuse, schools, retail & restaurants, hospitality,performing arts, clubhouse & amenity, adaptive reuse, and tenant improvements throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Structura’s services also include building rehabilitations and renovations including structural assessments, feasibility studies, repair designs and specifications, bidding assistance, and construction observations.
