We were pleased to provide structural support for a captivating art installation in the Columbia Town Center park created by Mary Ann Mears, a renowned sculptor known for her public art. 'Petal Play' is 14 on-grade sculptures made of painted aluminum and stainless steel, and featuring water and lighting elements. Our role encompassed the attachment of the various sculpture pieces to the respective foundations based on code-stipulated design loads and overall stability. The sculptures varied in height, ranging from approximately 3 feet to 30 feet. Situated along the front of a mixed-use development, these sculptures were strategically placed in the park-like setting to offer an interactive experience for children and families.
