As a gateway to the Logan Circle residential district in the north part of DC, the nine-story, 77-unit SoLo Piazza condominium with two levels of underground parking defines itself as a modern statement of form, materials, and space. At the rear of the site, this seemingly rectangular building conceals a unique cylindrical courtyard defined by glass curtain walls, projecting balconies and expressive structural elements.
The courtyard form and orientation maximize sunlight to the living spaces and the landscaped courtyard below. The facade design incorporates a rich palate of contemporary expression including colored concrete unit masonry, aluminum framed glass bay windows, and projecting balconies with custom railings to create a tapestry of color and form.
