The Regent (950 N Glebe Road) is a 12-story, 263,000 SF mixed-use development strategically located at the entrance to the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor. The building features prime office space and street-level retail in a high-profile, dynamic setting. The interior lobby, highlighted by a striking red leather wall and intricate stone floor pattern, earned the 2007 Best Interiors/Public Spaces Award from NAIOP Northern Virginia. The building’s sweeping curtainwall design enhances pedestrian and vehicular flow, while the segmented retail façade fosters vibrant activity along the site.
Structura provided comprehensive engineering services for multiple elements of the project, including the design of a three-level underground parking garage with concrete columns, girders, beams, and slabs; a steel-framed superstructure; concrete slab-on-metal deck tower floors; a glass curtain wall and precast panel building envelope; and a lateral force-resisting system consisting of five central braced frames. The Regent achieved LEED-NC Silver Certification from the USGBC through sustainable practices such as recycling 50% of construction waste and sourcing 20% of materials regionally, with an additional 50% extracted from local sources.
