The hotel, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, “is slated to complete its transformative renovation and rebranding in May 2025.”

“We are thrilled to be part of the reinvigorating development in Crystal City and Arlington, and modernize our hotel to exceed the standards of the discerning guest,” said Ben Joseph, the hotel’s general manager.

“The National Landing Hotel is setting the foundation for a new legacy, one we are extremely proud of, and we look forward to all that is to come,” Joseph said.

The hotel, with a total of 347 rooms and suites, will continue operations during the phased renovation, while protecting the integrity of the guest experience, officials said.

It is located at 1999 Richmond Highway.

Among the highlights of the renovated hotel:

  • Design-forward hotel interiors will “transcend the conventions of travel” to create localized experiences that strike the perfect balance of details that guests want and the services they need, delivering style and intention in the cultural hub of Arlington, Marriott officials said.
  • An innovative beverage and food program will blend European-inspired cuisine with the freshest flavors of the region, serving breakfast and dinner each day while offering vistas of the local scenery.
  • Additional amenities will include a 24/7 fitness center, and the hotel will offer 8,500 square feet of event spaces.

The property, now owned by a Texas-based limited partnership, was constructed in 1969. It was purchased by its current owner in November 2023 for $65.8 million, according to county land records.

It occupies a 1.72 acre site, according to county data.
