Structura served as the structural engineer of record for the Eastgate Shopping Center, a 103K SF retail development located in Richmond, VA's Heckler Village. This project involved the design and construction of three new single-story steel-framed buildings, including an 80K SF junior anchor building, a 16K SF four-unit building for small retail shops, and a 7K SF standalone small shops building.

Project scope encompassed the structural design of each building, which featured steel framing with bar joists and non-load-bearing light-gauge metal framing for the exterior walls. The team worked closely with BHM Architects to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of these spaces, supporting the project’s goal of creating a dynamic retail hub within the community. The center’s efficient design ensures both versatility and durability, allowing for a wide range of retail uses.
