When leading modern dance presenter Dance Place outgrew the DC space in which it had been housed for 20 years, they turned to Minneapolis-based Artspace for assistance in creating a unique arts complex that would lead the way in redeveloping the Brookland neighborhood in which it’s located.

The Brookland Artist Lofts are the first phase, providing 41 affordable, rental live/work apartments for working artists as well as underground parking, a rehearsal studio, a gallery space, classrooms, office space and intern housing for Dance Place.
