Project Description
As the structural engineer of record, Structura provided critical engineering expertise for the design and construction of Remington Row, a transformative mixed-use development located near Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. The project, part of Seawall Development Company's redevelopment plan, replaced a block of buildings on Remington Avenue with a new neighborhood anchor.
Project scope included designing the structural framework for the project, which featured 108 loft-style apartments, 14K SF of urban retail space, 30K SF of nonprofit office space, and both underground and at-grade parking. The design incorporated the industrial aesthetic characteristic of Seawall's adaptive reuse projects, with large, industrial-style windows and brick facades that nod to the building’s 1800s history. Structura’s work ensured the structural integrity of this mixed-use building, aligning with the project’s vision while meeting the needs of both residential and commercial tenants.
