We were pleased to be involved in the renovations and improvements to the Foundry Building in NW Washington, DC. Situated on the C&O Canal in heart of Georgetown, The Foundry is a Class A, Energy Star-rated six‐story office building originally constructed in 1973.
Our scope of work included renovations and expansion to the building lobby, partial demolition of the second floor to create a two‐story space for the new restaurant and modifications to the exterior wall at the street level and adding two‐story glass that wraps into the entry, removal of the existing internal stair from the lobby down to the lower level and infilling of the slab opening, the addition of a new Lobby monumental stair down to the lower level, in a different location, exterior curtain wall and window review, including rework, and a new roof deck addition load capacity and building modifications to provide egress to serve the roof deck.
